Hollywoods night of nights is here, the 92nd annual Academy Awards.
Sure the Oscars ceremony is great and all, but the red carpet is the unofficial main event. All your favourite celebrities will be making an appearance looking as glam as ever, but they haven't just woken up like this. A lot of preperation and pampering goes into the day, to make sure they're looking and feeling their best. We've pulled together some of their best-kept secrets to getting red carpet ready.
Dry brushing has been around for years and the celebs on your screens know that this is a sure-fire way to plump and boost the tone of the skin. Celeb facialist Joanna Vargas swears by regular full body exfoliations. “It really plumps your skin,” Vargas says. “On the red carpet, you’ll be showing your backs, arms, décolletages, and cleavage, so you want to feel hydrated and plumped all over, not just the face.”
Choose your favourite Bali Body Tanning & Body Oil and get brushing. Using long circular and sweeping motions up to the heart will also help to detox and drain the lymphatic system, bonus.
The biggest sin is to fall victim to a fake tan fail. Celebrity spray tanner Jules Von Hop recommends waiting at least 24 hours between de-fuzzing and applying your fake tan. It's also key for celebs to choose a lightweight believable formula, just like our Self Tanning Mousse. The streak free mousse guarantees a flawless red carpet-worthy tan without having to step outside your house.
Lip masks seemed to be the trend of 2019 and the hype hasn't died down. They were seen popping up on the pouts of major celebs like Jessica Alba and Kim Kardashian. Emma Stones makeup artists Rachel Goodwin applies a lip mask to the actress's lips before any red carpet, followed by a nourishing lip balm. We love applying our Coconut Lip Balm straight after a lip mask for an extra boost of hydration and smooth lips before a special event.
Celebs have to give good face, but with thigh-high splits and plunging necklines trending they have to also be prepared to give good leg, side boob, bicep, the list goes on. To illuminate and elongate their limbs celebs love to apply body highlight like Bali Body's Shimmering Body Oil. The soft shimmer pops on the red carpet and helps to blur out any bumps or imperfections. Makeup artist Patrik Ta applies shimmer body oil with a fluffy brush to any areas that will catch the flashing lights. The result is an airbrushed effect like no other.
