There's nothing worse than a patchy, uneven tan.
It's simple... an uneven tan is the result of bad prep and an application process that may need some small tweaks. Here's how to avoid a patchy tan and of course we have some products that are perfect for the job.
PREP
First things first, we're going to need to get your skin as clean as possible. One of the best, easiest ways to remove fake tan is with a Self Tan Remover and Exfoliating Mitt. Not only is this product great for removing suborn fake tan, but it also helps prime and prepare the skin for your next self tan.
Apply a Self Tan Remover to your entire body and add extra product to areas where there may be a build up of self tan. Leave the product on the skin for at least 5 minutes then rinse in the shower and gently buff away the self tan. Shave and ensure your skin is completely free from any product. You want to be a complete blank canvas. Pat your skin dry and be sure to keep your skin product free for at least the next 24 hours.
APPLICATION
You're ready for the big dance, it's application time. Apply moisturiser to your elbows, knees, hands, feet and any areas where self tan tends to leave patches and spots. Reach for a Luxe Tanning Mitt and begin at your feet. In long sweeping strokes apply the product to your limbs in an upward motion. Using the same process, apply the product to your arms, stomach, neck, chest and back.
After you've finished applying the product, wear dark coloured, loose fitting clothing while the self tan develops. Once you've reached your desired colour, shower with lukewarm water, no soap ideally. From our own personal experience, it's best to pat dry your skin with a clean towel instead of shimming the towel over your fresh fake tan. Trust us, your tan will not only look better, but will last longer.
QUICK FIX
Your BFF just called, drinks are at 6pm, it’s 5:30pm and your tan has seen better days. We've got you, try this hack. Reach for your Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse and a dense makeup brush. Apply a pea size amount of product directly onto the makeup brush. Carefully buff the product into the patchy fake tan area. Reach for your hair dryer or apply a small amount of talcum powder and dry the area completely. No patchy fake tan here ruining a night out with the girls.
